Yesterday was an exciting day for me. I received the payout notification from FTMO, and I also got the credentials for my live MFF account. I will be in Jamaica for the rest of the week, so I am not sure how much trading I will be able to do, but I am grateful for the opportunities that are presenting themselves to me. This morning, I had my performance coach session with FTMO, and it was a great experience. I wanted to share some key takeaways from our discussion.
Firstly, we discussed the importance of taking only high-quality setups. We talked about how our mindset is our biggest asset, and it must be protected at all costs. Before placing any trades, we should always ask ourselves, "How will this affect my mindset?" We also discussed how each trade is independent of one another, and we should focus on the process rather than the result.
Secondly, we talked about trusting our analysis. Do we trust our analysis before entry or during the trade? We should have a plan for each trade broken down into three stages: analysis, execution, and outcome. We need to simplify our execution and aim for flawless execution, and not worry about losing trades or having a losing streak. Instead of being angry or upset, we should be concerned and evaluate how we can improve our process.
Finally, we talked about trading as a book, and we are the authors. We should aim to only have high-quality trades in our story. We should focus on being present and in the moment, and not let emotions cloud our judgement.
Overall, it was a great session, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have a performance coach. It is important to continuously evaluate and improve our process, and I am looking forward to applying these insights to my trading going forward.
