It's been an eventful week for me in the trading world. I received my FTMO payout notification, which is always a great feeling. But the real test of skill came from recovering from a 5% drawdown. It's important to remember that trading is not always sunshine and rainbows, and managing losses is a crucial part of the game.
I decided to take some time off and enjoy a well-deserved vacation. After all, it's important to recharge and disconnect from the screens every once in a while. But even on travel days, the markets never sleep. I took some US30 longs from the low, but unfortunately got stopped out after market open while in flight. It's always a bummer when a trade doesn't go your way, but it's important to remember that every trade is a learning experience.
Since I was on an evaluation account, I had the opportunity to close the trade in profit before takeoff, but I decided to let it ride. It's important to stick to your strategy and trust the process, even if it means taking a temporary loss.
I'm currently in Jamaica until the weekend, and it's been quite an experience so far. The differences between the resort and the local areas make you appreciate the life and opportunities you have. Unfortunately, my Verizon data service hasn't been working at all, but it's been nice to disconnect from the screens and enjoy the beauty around me.
I've included a link through my FTMO payout certificate if you're interested in the details. And lastly, here are some of my favorite sights from the trip so far. Remember to take some time off and enjoy the little things in life, because that's what makes it all worth it.
